Term Limits

Germantown Needs Term Limits

Term limits create opportunity—for new voices, fresh ideas, and stronger leadership. While some say, “If you want change, vote incumbents out,” the reality is incumbency comes with a powerful advantage. Term limits help level the playing field and open the door for more citizens to serve.

Germantown is full of capable, committed people already giving their time—on commissions, school boards, PTSA, community volunteers and leadership programs. Service is one of our city’s greatest strengths. We should make more room for it.

No elected official should hold office for decades. Leadership should evolve with the community. My vision is simple: two terms as Alderman, two terms as Mayor—then step aside.

Limited time in office drives focus, urgency, and accountability—and reduces complacency. It also supports a smaller, more responsive government.

As Mayor, advancing term limits will be one of my first priorities for the BMA to consider.

The time is now to create a movement rooted in accountability and transparency.

I will earn your trust.

I will prove my passion to serve with transparency.

I will separate wants vs needs for the better of the community.

I will set clear priorities and use disciplined action.

Tony Salvaggio- Alderman and Mayoral Candidate

As we continue our campaign for Mayor, I am committed to engaging our citizens consistently, directly, and objectively about the challenges we face, the goals we must pursue, and the pathways to achieve them. You may agree or disagree with my conclusions—but true leadership does not avoid hard conversations. It confronts them with clarity, transparency, and respect for the people who fund this government. These are conversations you deserve.
